ANIMA Quartet

Our
Story
The ANIMA Quartet, as one of the ensemble's core chamber groups, consists of four accomplished musicians: Nina Wong (Co-founder and Co-Music Director of ANIMA Ensemble), Aaron Chan, Martin Kuo and Jia Nan, who bring extensive international experience and exceptional artistry. These musicians have performed as soloists and chamber musicians on prestigious stages worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Berlin Konzerthaus, and Smetana Hall in Prague. They have collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Opera Hong Kong, and Macao Orchestra. Collectively, the quartet's members have garnered numerous prestigious awards, including top prizes at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians and the Schoenfeld International String Competition. Their diverse educational backgrounds—from institutions like the Cleveland Institute of Music, McGill University, Bard College, and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts—enable them to deliver performances marked by refined technique, vibrant musicianship, and compelling musical expression, perfectly embodying ANIMA Ensemble's artistic vision.
